Fall – Stage 2: Skill Builders
Skill Builders is a program that seeks to build up students in grades 2-8 in several different aspects of performance, no matter their skill or training level. A strong focus on helping students develop concrete skills as singers, actors, and dancers helps prepare for a performance at the end of the session. Students will learn in a large group setting as well as smaller classes broken up by age group.

After many years teaching voice with the Skill Builders program, Tawnie is thrilled to be our new Program Director. She has been a private music teacher for 11 years and now runs her own music studio. She is a graduate of the Mohawk College Jazz Performance Program as a vocalist and has many years of experience teaching vocals for musical theatre. Tawnie has worked in many of Theatre Ancaster’s youth programs over the years, including Stage 1: Jitterbugs, Stage 2: Junior Broadway, and Stage 2: Performance Summer Camp. She is incredibly excited to take on this new role and to share her love of the arts with your children.
Can my child participate in a combination of Stage 2 programs (Skill Builders, Junior Broadway, GLEE)?
Yes! This is a great way to build the skills of a well-rounded performer, provided your student is old enough to register in Junior Broadway and GLEE (Grades 5-8).
What training and qualifications do your staff hold?
Our staff is made up of qualified and experienced educators, both in formal education settings and in the arts industry. Yes, attendance at the dress rehearsal and final performance is mandatory. Our entire program is structured around the creation of the final show and children will get the most out of their experience with full participation.
