South Pacific

Theatre Ancaster is pleased to invite vocal auditions for its new Classics Company, a Theatre Ancaster program dedicated to performers age 55 and over. Our first musical production is the concert version of the “classic” Rogers and Hammerstein musical, South Pacific.

Performances will be held at the Old Firehall Arts Centre on February 14, 15, 16, 2020

Auditions Required for Singing Roles

Auditions for either a main part or a part in the chorus will be held at The Old Firehall Arts Centre, 334 Wilson St. E.. Ancaster. You must audition, even if you attended the Info Session on April 29.

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm

Auditions are by appointment or by drop-in (drop-ins will have to wait for a free time spot). 

To arrange an audition time, please email: classicscompany@theatreancaster.com. Please come 15 minutes early to complete any paperwork needed before beginning.

Please note that we may record the audition process to review.

Non-singing Roles - No Auditions Required:

Come and register for the program on either May 28 or May 29 if you did not attend our Information Night on April 29.

Auditions for main parts:

Become familiar with the sides that pertain to the character(s) for whom you would like to audition. It is not necessary to memorize the material. Someone will be available to read the scene with you. See the list of dialogue sides below:

Singing auditions for the chorus:

If you are a male, become familiar with “There is Nothing Like a Dame”.
If you are a female, become familiar with “A Wonderful Guy”.

Additional Information

The vocal tracks and sides will be available at the auditions for you. You do not have to bring your own tracks or scripts.

Please do not ask to sing a capella or change the keys.
